RESUMEN

Acetochlor is a herbicide that is currently not approved for EU use. It is moderately soluble in water and is quite volatile. Based on its chemical properties it would not be expected to leach to groundwater. It is not persistence in soil systems but may be very persistent in aquatic systems under certain conditions. It has a high mammalian toxicity and it has a low potential for bioaccumulation. It is a known mutagen and may cause undesirable reproduction/development effects. Acetochlor is a recognised irritant and skin sensitizer. Acetochlor is moderately toxic to birds, honeybees, earthworms and most aquatic organisms however it is highly toxic to algae.

Descripción: A chloroacetanilide herbicide used mainly pre-emergence or pre-planting to control annual grasses and some broad-leaved weeds
