RESUMEN

Cynanamide, sometimes referred to as hydrogen cyanamide, is a plant growth regulator than no longer has approval for use in the EU. It is highly soluble in water, is volatile and would not normally be expected to leach to groundwater. It is not persistent in soil systems but could be persistent in water under certain conditions. Cyanamide is moderately toxic to mammals, is an irritant and has a high potential for bio-concentration. It is moderately toxic to birds, fish, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic fauna, honeybees and earthworms.
