The efficacy and activity of the endophytic bacteria Azotobacter salinestris as a biostimulant is well studied and proven in fixing free atmospheric nitrogen into a form readily useable by crops. The bacteria will colonise both the leaf and the root, improving crop growth, yield, and quality of the crops. Results of winter wheat trials with a commercial product formulated with A. salinestris showed a significant yield uplift especially when used in addition to optimum N fertiliser rates. |

The bacteria are first isolated from soil samples and then cultivated in a nutrient-rich medium under controlled conditions. This ensures a high concentration of viable bacteria which is then subjected to a fermentation process in a large bioreactors under controlled conditions to optimise bacterial growth. The bacterial cells are then separated from the liquid medium using centrifugation or filtration and formulated into the end product. |
