Technical advice

AERU’s small team of dedicated researchers encompasses staff from a wide range of backgrounds, and includes staff with expertise in:

  • Agro-ecosystems.
  • Precision farming.
  • Energy use, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate change mitigation.
  • Sustainable resource use (water, nutrients and other inputs).
  • Waste management.
  • Pesticide science (fate, transport and ecotoxicology).
  • Nutrient use, budgeting and environmental losses (nitrate, phosphate nitrous oxide, ammonia).
  • Agricultural best practice.
  • Policy implementation and assessment.

As a result, we are ideally placed to provide technical advice and input on wide range of agri-environmental issues, and are regular contributors to studies and debates promoted by UK government and other researchers. We also produce newsletters and other technical input for our clients, and have developed a number of our own knowledge transfer (KT) resources, many of which are included in the other KT activities described in this section (software development, web services, data services).
