N-nitrosodimethylamine
Last updated: 13/10/2023
(Also known as: NDMA; DMN)

SUMMARY
N-nitrosodimethylamine is an obsolete insecticide that is not generally approved for use in the developed world. It is highly toxic and a possible human carcinogen. It is miscible with water, volatile, highly mobile in the soil and has high potential to leach into groundwater. Ecotoxicological data is scarce but it can reasonably be expected to be toxic to most species.
Data alerts

The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement.
