Danielle joined AERU as a research assistant in April 2018, and is working partly as GIS support for the updating of the land carbon management plan for the Wallington estate.

Her main areas of interest include:

  • GIS and spatial analysis of environmental data.
  • Natural Hazards and risk management.
  • Using maps and graphics for science communication.


  • BSc in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of the West of England (2008).
  • MRes in the Science of Natural Hazards, University of Bristol (2011).
  • PhD in New Approaches to Hazard Communication at Volcanoes, University College London (2018).

Previous employment

Danielle was previously employed at the Somerset Drainage Boards Consortium, working on flood risk and mapping water level management projects on the Somerset Levels. In addition, Danielle also worked for the Environment Agency on flood risk management and policy at their offices in Bridgwater, Somerset.
