Systems sustainability

The desire for agricultural sustainability is well recognised by the UK’s industry as a whole and is now accepted by most farmers, although the means for delivering it are less clear. This is, in-part, due to the lack of sound data describing just how far away that goal is. Whilst we have fairly reliable data on the farm economics of crop production, the environmental impact of the production cycle is less well defined. However, AERU are at the forefront of adopting state-of-the art modelling and risk assessment techniques to evaluate the overall sustainability of agricultural and horticultural production systems.
