Research interests:

Postmodern, postminimalist composition, drawing from a vast range of influences. Much 20th century composition has been obsessed with process. My music reflects less left hemisphere bias and more right/left hemisphere balance, with an interest in emotional and dramatic processes rather than cerebral or computational ones. It explores an interest in gestalt ideology, with a nexus of connections lying beneath an often bright, colourful and pluralistic surface. This is my personal vision of music in the 21st century.

Supervsiory interests:

  • composition
  • electroacoustic composition
  • composition for screen
  • composition for theatre
