Where and what we choose to spend our money on has an impact socially and environmentally, locally and globally. The Environment Team have put together a Green Office Guide for UH staff. Take a few minutes to have a look through the guide and see if there are any steps you can take to make your office a little 'greener.' Enter the Guide

• Turn it off! Save money and pollution by turning off all unnecessary lighting and computer equipment. If you take a break from your computer, turn off the monitor.
• Ditch the car! Walking and cycling is great for you and the environment. Why not make use of the student or staff discount on the bus? See The Travel Plan for more details.
• If you must use a car - share it. Sharing cars is cleaner, cheaper and more sociable. Visit the Travel Plan website to find out more.
• Use the park and ride to avoid the jams and pollution around campus.
• Recycle more - order your recycling bins
• Don't be a drip! Report water leaks and dripping taps to the Department of Estates or Accommodation Office.
• Use your purchasing power. You can buy recycled and fair trade products from the Students Union shop or through University approved suppliers.
• Become a volunteer. Contact us to gain work experience and have fun working on a wide range of projects.
• Check out the Environmental Project Shop and make you course work make a difference.
• Spread the word. Contact the Environment Team for free promotional stickers and stationery.
