The commercial production of jasmone involves several steps. First, the selected Jasmine species are cultivated. The flowers are harvested early in the morning when their fragrance is most potent and oil yields are highest. The essential oil is extracted from the flowers, typically using steam distillation or solvent extraction. The extracted oil contains various compounds, including jasmone. Jasmone is then isolated from the essential oil through processes such as fractional distillation or chromatography. |
