Efficacy & activity

The biostimulating effects of Arctium lappa extract are not as well studied as some botanicals. Evidence of efficacy is limited although studies using a seed-coating for soybean and other legumes based on the extract have been successful.

Mode of action

As an insecticide the extract is a feed suppressant and inhibits egg deposition. As biostimulant it enhances biometric traits (e.g. plant height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod) and productivity but the actual mechanism is not clear.
