Ethiofencarb (Ref: BAY 108594)
Last updated: 04/02/2024
(Also known as: ethiophencarbe; HOX 1901)

SUMMARY
Ethiofencarb is a carbamate insecticide. It is highly soluble in water and has a low volatility. Depending on local conditions it may be moderately persistent in soil but it is not expected to be persistent in water systems. Based on its physicochemical properties there is a high risk of ethiofencarb leaching to groundwater. It is highly toxic to some bees via the oral route but moderately toxic to most other biodiversity. Ethiofencarb is moderately toxic to mammals if ingested and is an acetylecholinesterase inhibitor.
Data alerts

The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement.
