SUMMARY
Ethyl formate is a volatile and flammable substance used as a fumigant to control insects in stored grain. It has a low solubility in water. It is not normally persistent in soils. It is not highly toxic to aquatic organisms. It is moderately toxic to mammals if ingested and is an irritant.
