Bromethalin is an unclassified rodenticide. It has a low aqueous solubility and is not considered volatile. It may be persistent in soil systems but, based on its physico-chemical properties, it is not expected to leach to groundwater. It is highly toxic to most fauna although data is a little scant. Bromethalin is also highly toxic to mammals via the oral route.
