Fenothiocarb (Ref: KCO 3001)
Last updated: 01/09/2023
(Also known as: B1 5452)
Fenothiocarb is a thiocarbamate acaricide used to control eggs and young stages of various spider mites. It has a low aqueous solubility but is soluble in various organic solvents. It tends not to be persistent in soil or water systems. Based on its physical-chemical properties fenothiocarb is not expected to leach to groundwater. Ecotoxicity data is sparse but suggests moderate levels. Toxicity via the oral route is moderate to humans and no information on chronic risks have been found.
The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement.
