Fenthion sulfoxide exhibits stereoisomerism, specifically diastereomerism, due to the presence of a sulfoxide functional group. The sulphur atom in the sulfoxide is bonded to two different substituents and possesses a lone pair, making it a chiral centre. This leads to the formation of two diastereomers.
