SUMMARY
Etrimfos is an insecticide used to control chewing pests but is now considered to be obsolete. It has a low aqueous solubility but is miscible with many organic solvents. Data suggests it is not persistent in soils. Etrimfos is highly toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates and honeybees but less toxic to birds and algae. It is moderately toxic to humans if ingested. It is a neurotoxin and acetyl cholinesterase inhibitor.
