XIII Symposium on Pesticide Chemistry (Piacenza, Italy, 3-6 September 2007)

Thirteen FOOTPRINT partners attended the XIII Symposium on Pesticide Chemistry in Piacenza between the 3rd and 6th of September 2007, a key event in the field of pesticide fate and risk assessment. The project benefited from a display stand at which visitors could try an early version of FOOT-FS for the first time and view a display board of FOOTPRINT posters, including a map of the new FOOTPRINT SUGAR index.

There was also a series of talks given in a special FOOTPRINT session:

• The FOOTPRINT project (general talk, reporting on the latest advances in the project) - Igor Dubus .
• Current knowledge and future challenges in considering bound residues in pesticide risk assessment and modelling - Enrique Barriuso .
• Mitigation strategies to reduce pesticide inputs into ground and surface water and their effectiveness: a state-of-the-art review - Stefan Reichenberger .
• What are the key climatic factors determining loss and maximum concentrations of pesticides in drainflow and leaching? - Tom Nolan .
• Identification of Agro-environmental scenarios characterizing European Agriculture - Tiziana Centofanti .
• Parameterising MACRO for EU-wide predictions - Fredrik Stenemo .
