2014-2014:
Review of data relating to Dietary Reference Values (P, Mg, Cu, Cl
& Na) (Ref. NP/EFSA/NUTRI/2014/01 Lots 2 & 3)
The
European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have a mandate from the European
Commission to review the existing advice of the Scientific Committee
for Food (SCF) on Dietary Reference Values (DRVs) for energy, macro-
and micronutrients and other substances with a nutritional or
physiological effect. AERU, collaborated with the University of
Hertfordshire's Nutrition and Dietetics Group (NDG) to provide
regulatory support to EFSA by undertaking literature reviews and data
evaluation summarising the scientific information relating to the
chemistry, physiology/metabolism, and biomarkers, for magnesium,
copper, phosphorus, sodium and chloride, as well as the influence of
genotypes on their physiology and metabolism. In this project AERU
provided the expertise on database management and evidence collation
and evaluation; whilst NDG provided the expertise in diet and nutrition.
