| Chemicals in food and feedA key output of agricultural systems is food and thus there is scope food products to contain chemicals that are used during production and processing and/or contamination of feed used for livestock. There is also scope for potential contamination from chemicals used in packaging. Understanding potential issues and impacts of this nature often requires collating significant amounts of scientific data to form an evidence base that can then be used to steer policy and management decisions. AERU have undertaken a variety of projects in this area including livestock feed additives; artificial sweeteners; and Bisphenol A in food packaging, all of which have required collating, analysing and synthesising state of the art data and knowledge on these topics.
