2020-2020: Balancing the Environment Agency's residual greenhouse gas emissions
The UK has set out in law the target of achieving Net Zero by 2050. Since 1990, UK greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been falling. To achieve Net Zero by 2050 the UK will need to cut its emission rates by over 300 MtCO2e (2017 levels) to 193 MtCO2e in 2050. This study helped the Environment Agency to achieve these ambitions by identifying how best to balance the Agency's residual carbon emissions to achieve Net Zero by 2030.
